PADI Open Water Diver Referral – theories & pool in Finland, open water abroad
With the PADI Open Water Diver Referral course, you can start scuba diving in two steps: you do the theory and pool exercises with Noste in Finland, and you finish your open water training on holiday abroad at a dive centre of your choice. When you have the basics in place before your trip, you can go straight into the sea at your destination – feeling confident and relaxed.

This course is suitable for you if you want to:
• Begin scuba diving safely and with clear guidance
• Builds a comprehensive foundation for the hobby: knowledge, skills and confidence before entering open water
• You don't want to use your vacation days for studying and basic training, but rather get to the point "on your own"
• Do open water in the sun and in a holiday atmosphere, with strong fundamentals
• Earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification (max 18m), which is recognized worldwide
We have experience in the referral process and a wide network of reliable collaboration centers. We are happy to recommend a suitable location and help with practical arrangements to ensure that the whole process runs smoothly.
COURSE CONTENT (Noste / Finnish share)
• Theory studies (Knowledge Development, eLearning)
• Pool exercises (Confined Water) - typically three (3) sessions
Open water section abroad (host diving center)
Open water training dives are done with the host dive center at the destination. With these dives, you take the skills you learned in the pool into the right environment and complete your certification. Typically, 4 open water dives are included in the price. Please note that the open water portion at a different dive center is a separate activity from Noste's activities, and operates under the terms and pricing of the host dive center.
Requirements and age limit
Minimum age:
10 years (under 15 years: PADI Junior Open Water Diver, max 12 m)
Water skills:
• 200m swim
• 10 min floating / being on the water
Health check:
• You will fill out the necessary forms along with the eLearning material.
• You will receive clear instructions and practices in the course letter, if necessary, ask us for more information
What will you get after the course?
... When you have completed your first leg with Noste and completed your open water dives abroad
• PADI Open Water Diver certification (globally recognized)
• Ability to dive to a maximum depth of 18 meters and continue the hobby at home or abroad
Attention to learning and additional training
We all learn at different paces. The course has plenty of time for learning and practicing, but if you feel that reaching the skill requirements and open water readiness requires more training, additional lessons in the pool can be arranged before the trip. Additional lessons are always agreed together and invoiced separately. Safety is the number one priority in diving: that is why we emphasize good basic skills and ensuring that you meet the PADI Open Water Diver course requirements.
