Frequently asked questions

What is Noste?

Noste is a modern diving school that combines a good vibe, high-quality teaching and safe practices. We organize courses, guided dives and trips – with a relaxed, hands-on approach.

Where does Noste operate?

We mainly operate in the PK region. Water training and pool training are carried out at our partners' pool facilities, and open water training and guided tours are organized at the best destinations in Southern Finland. Also boat trips during the season.

Do I need to have previous experience?

The DSD Dive Trial and PADI Open Water Diver are for beginners. If you already have a rating, you can continue on to Advanced, Rescue or Specialty courses – or join guided dives.

What courses do you offer?

The main lines are:

  • PADI Open Water Diver (beginner)
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (confidence and more experience)
  • PADI Rescue Diver (safety and rescue skills)
  • PADI Specialty courses (e.g. drysuit, nitrox, buoyancy control, night diving, navigation, wreck)

Feel free to ask and we will build a path just for you.

How long do the courses last?

The duration depends on the course, schedules and weather conditions. Some courses are run as a tight package, some are more flexible. We always announce the schedule in advance.

Where are the pool workouts held?

Pool training and water training will be held at our partners' pool facilities. We will provide you with the exact information (location, time, arrival instructions) in the course letter and during the course orientation.

Where are the open water training and trips organized?

Open water dives are mainly carried out at the best diving sites in Southern Finland. The site is always chosen based on conditions, visibility, safety and the level of the group.

Can I do the theory parts remotely?

In most PADI courses, theory is taught digitally (eLearning) before practical exercises. In addition, course orientations are always conducted remotely.

What should I bring?

Usually you need:

  • Swimsuit + towel (pool days)
  • Weather-appropriate outerwear and warm clothing for breaks (open water)
  • Drinks and a small snack
  • Your own basic equipment (mask, snorkel, fins) for the beginner course, for advanced courses you will need equipment. We will help you with the equipment by guiding you to purchase your own or by looking at possible rental equipment with you.

You will always receive a more detailed “what to bring” list before the course/trip.

Is diving safe?

Diving is a safe hobby when done correctly: with a plan, in suitable conditions and under the guidance of trained professionals. Noste's operations are based on PADI standards and clear, calm practices.

Can I do the theory parts remotely?

In most PADI courses, theory is taught digitally (eLearning) before practical exercises. In addition, course orientations are always conducted remotely.

What if the weather is bad?

On open waters, conditions may affect schedules and locations. If safe implementation is not possible, we will postpone the event or change the location. We will always inform you as early as possible.

Can I cancel my participation?

Cancellation and transfer policies depend on the course/trip and bookings (e.g. pool shifts, boat, equipment logistics). Terms of sale are described at the bottom of the page.

Can I come alone?

Absolutely. Many people come alone and find a group of like-minded people. We manage pairings and group dynamics so that everyone feels good and safe.

Will I receive an official PADI card from the course?

Yes, once you complete the course requirements, you will receive a PADI certificate (digitally, in the PADI App) and instructions on how to proceed to the next level.

Do you organize private courses or for your own group?

Yes. If you want private lessons or your own group (group of friends, work group, family), let us know your wishes - we will tailor a package.

Do you need to know how to swim?

We require swimming skills (200 m) and general water safety skills (10 min), as required by PADI standards. You don't need to be a competitive swimmer, but you must be able to act confidently and calmly in the water.

In what language is the training organized?

We offer training in Finnish, English and Swedish (note that the language selection varies depending on the trainer. If you want the course in a specific language, please mention it when registering and we will ensure that you receive instruction in your desired language)

I couldn't find the answer - how can I get in touch?

Send us a message (email/WhatsApp/DM) with your questions and any wishes. We will respond and help you build a plan that suits you – without unnecessary adjustments.
